Week #1: Discover & Define

As part of EPIC's opening VCL week, we will be hosting a panel session where thought leaders discuss the current synbio entrepreneurial landscape and the process of needs-finding within the field. Our three guest speakers, Andrew Hessel (President of Humane Genomics), Leah Sibener (Cofounder of 3T Biosciences), and Sajith Wickramasekara (Founder & CEO of Benchling), will discuss their own venture journeys— from personal motivations for launching their ventures, to their company’s biggest challenges and advice for young entrepreneurs.

For the second panel session of our series, our expert panelists feature Alec Nielsen (Cofounder & CEO of Asimov), David Breslauer (Cofounder & CSO of Bolt Threads), and Trevor Martin (Cofounder & CEO of Mammoth Biosciences).
